The pool water is not warm enough.
The bed was excellent, but the couch was terrible!! .
We paid for 3 adults and one had to sleep inside this horrible sofa and it was very unpleasant.

Excellent hotel with friendly staff, nice pool and good food. Disappointing they only have one drinks machine in the restaurant resulting in lengthy queues to just get water, this could be easily overcome by a second machine or jugs of water available.

This hotel is in a great location to the mountain and nightlife although away from the noisy part of town. The rooms are spacious, clean and modern. The Buffet food is to a good standard and plenty of choice for Breakfast and dinner. The addition of wine and beer for dinner service was a present surprise and added even more value to dinner. If I was to make one suggestion would be to have a few more coffee machines for the breakfast service to avoid over crowding.
The hotel was a little hot at times but a very minor observation.

We were a family of four staying for a ski trip. The hotel is in a great location- 5 mins into the Main Street and gondola. Also there is a frequent shuttle bus. Our room was large, comfortable and cleaned every day. The swimming pool and spa facilities excellent. Food was very nice, always a good choice and included local wine and beer. We enjoyed sitting in the lobby to relax when the big fire was lit. All in all, good value for money and we hope to return next year.

Rooms were clean, stuff was friendly, it is 10 minutes walk from the gondola lift, but there is also a hotel bus leaving ever 15 minutes during ski season. Next time in Bansko, I won't experiment with different hotel, this really met all my needs.

Regarding the booking service, I think you should provide the option of paying in EUR, not just in BGN, especially since you deliver your quotations in EUR. My EUR card was charged 5 EUR more because of the BGN/EUR rate.
We booked a double room but at the hotel we received a twin room. When I asked the receptionist to make the change, the reply was that the hotel was fully booked. There seemed to be no real interest towards solving the problem, on the contrary, the attitude was almost hostile. The room itself did not have curtains, it was fitted with window blinds that were defective and hard to operate. We paid for two bathrobes, of which one, we observed later, had torn pockets. When we returned it to the reception, we were requested another 10 lv for the change, but we 'managed' to convince them that we shouldn't be charged for an improper item.
The food was OK, we especially liked the Friday night menu, with a local theme.
We would suggest adding some international news channels in the TV programme.

As a first timer, reading good revews on the hotel, I felt confident booking the Lion hotel. After staying a whole week, I can say that the staff is friendly and helpfull, the food was excellent and the rooms were basic for a 4 star hotel, but that didn’t bother too much. But there was one reason I was utterly surprised and dissapointed; the hot water in the shower. On one occasion, at the end of the day at around 5pm, we all came back from skying, and as one would expect, to have a hot shower after the day. To my surprise, the shower I took on that dat had mild water, which was strange because I have never experienced something like that in a hotel before. When I came to report this at the reception, i asked for the hotel manager and I was approached by the reception manageress who I have to say was very unsympathetic to my complaint. In fact she gave me the impression I should not complain and not make a fuss about it, claiming the mild water were due to e technical problem that have been solved. The sad story is that after my complain I experienced 2 more occasions where I took a shower with mild and not warm enough water. This to me is very dissapointing as hot water is the basic you look after when running a hotel. The second dissapointing issue is the way this has been handled by the front desk manageress.

Congratulations to all the team for running a customer focused and friendly hotel!
The Spa is an excellent addition and the team their are also very professional.
Our flight home was cancelled and even then the front desk team went out of their way to look after us in Sophia!
We will definitely come back next year!!

Great hotel for a ski stay
We stayed half board and had breakfast and an evening meal each day. Breakfast was excellent, although evening meals were pretty bog standard for the buffet type service.
Spa facilities last year we were there were great, although this year the steam rooms and sauna weren't hot and the whirlpool bath was out of order / switched off.
The gentleman at reception (Stefan i think) was very helpful and got us sorted a taxi to the ski lifts every day meaning we didnt have to queue for the gondola giving us an extra few hours of skiing each day!
Bar is reasonably priced and the reception / communal area is very warming and inviting, although there is a lack of entertainment if thats what you are looking for.

Excellent accommodation and friendly stuff. Only downside was New Year's Eve food which was not great.

The food was really bad, your staff is incompetent and doesn't know English even thought your hotel was mostly booked by either Romanians or any other country, but not Bulgaria. The DJ from the New Year's Eve party only talked in Bulgarian during the party which is unacceptable.

Hotel location. Food and room were all great however it's very noisy late at night. Reception are ride and very unhelpful.
Waiting staff and spa staff are great.

Very enjoyable stay in Hotel Lion. Good that it is located near the slopes with a bus shuttle service. We were on Floor 6 but would have liked a room on one of the other floors with a view.

In overall the hotel was very good and clean except the fact that the carpet was beige and can be stained easily, and it was indeed stained. Next to my bed there were two spots. The food was a little better that average. Its location is very convenient. The staff was polite except the fact that the maids knock on the door at 10.30 to clean the rooms and woke me and the group up when the check out is at 12.00

Excellent quality hotel for the money. Large rooms, and convenient location.
Would have been more convenient had the ski shuttle run slightly later, but the hotel is a relatively easy walk from the gondola, even in ski boots, so not a big deal.
The lobby bar service could be quicker- woul benefit from more than one bar tender during busier times. The restaurant would also benefit from more bar staff, as we were only offered drinks at the table on two nights out of seven.
Overal a Lovely experience. Great hotel & we will not hesitate to book again!

There were a few problems with the service at the hotel that would stop me returning to the hotel. On a number of occassions during the week the restaurant ran out of some food half way through breakfast and dinner. I find this very unacceptable, everyone has paid for meals and then the best food has gone because we are not first at the meal. I have been at many other hotels with buffets and have never had this problem. Also during meals the tables were set for the first people, but after they left the tables were never reset. This meant that most meals we had to eat at tables with used dirty tablecloths, which were unset so had to get our own cutlery and didn't get proper napkins. Again I find this unacceptable.
Also when we arrived we were only give. one key card. This caused problems on the very first day as I ended up waiting 1hr in the pool for my roomate to return from town to be able to get in the room, when they had asked for an extra keycard they said they didn't have any. This also caused problems of hearing someone in another room knocking for a long time to be able to get into their room which happened a few nights and woke all our party up.
Overall other things with the hotel were ok, but I wouldn't return or recommend it to anyone else because of these things. The problems especially with the meals ruin the experience.

We stayed at the hotel in the end of the season so the hotel wasn't full, which was great for us. The rooms are spacius and well equiped, good wi-fi, although there could be some robes. The staff was good and polite unlike the rest of the people in Bansko. Also the guy in the ski rental is very helpful and nice. He cleaned and waxed my board even if i didn't ask for it! We definitely recommend the hotel.

The lion hotel is great value. The facilities were very good. The staff were a mixed bag, the man and lady in the ski shop could not have been more helpful and friendly, as was the shuttle driver.some of the waiting staff were just going through the motions as the end of season was in sight, but some were great. The biggest let down came with the food although there was plenty of choice for breakfast and evening meal and it was all very tasty it was all luke warm served on cold plates. The pool was also getting colder by the day. The hotel ran out of most wine, bread rolls and tonic water. I would like to see what it is like in the mid season

Overall very good value for money & well situated for skiing facilities. Although the bottom of the slope is within reasonable walking distance, it would have been better had the hotel shuttle been available a little later than 5pm as it's not great having to walk back in your ski boots after an intense days skiing.
Most staff very friendly & helpful, however a few restaurant & bar staff were rude & ignorant.
The guy in the ski rental shop was very knowledgable, friendly, and the services/ equipment were very cheap- recommended!
Spa services very cheaply priced, and staff very friendly & helpful. Bedrooms well equipped, spacious, and comfortable.
