The ski trail on Perelik Peak constructed

The director of the regional inspectorate of environment and waters in Smolyan city has approved the preliminary project for the construction of a stationery ski trail and a ski zone within the area of the sports and tourist centre ‘Perelik’. According to the evaluation of the impact on the environment and the proposed report for consistency, the trace of the ski trail is expected to be built on a pasture. The length of the ski trail will be nearly 550m and the capacity will be 550 people per hour. The controversial project encompasses area of the preserved locality Mursalitsa-Trigrad. The servicing area of ski trail ‘Karluk’ will include a warehouse, tea house and two stations. According to the regional inspectorate of environment and waters in Smolyan, the project will not make a negative impact on the environment. However, in order to have the project fulfilled, there are 40 requirements that have to be met.
