It is expected that the number of foreign holidaymakers will be increased by 10-15% during summer season 2011. Even though tourism has experienced many difficulties, including the change of VAT, it has proven that it’s one of Bulgaria’s best branches.

Most hotels in the popular summer resort will open doors during Easter holidays. It is expected that groups from Serbia, Romania and Macedonia will attend Sunny Beach and stay in best hotels during Easter celebration. Most holidaymakers have chosen 4-day Easter packages. Sunny Beach is supposed to welcome about 1000 holidaymakers for Easter celebrations. The tourism season in the beloved Sunny Beach resort starts with the arrival of first German groups who will arrive on 5th of May 2011. Surprisingly, this year Sunny Beach bids a welcome to many foreign seniors who will celebrate their prom in the sunniest coastal resort in Bulgaria.

Representatives of Sunny Beach Inc. predict that this year’s summer season will be even more successful than last year’s one. Most of the tourists in Sunny Beach will come from Germany. German sunseekers are patrons of Sunny Beach in spite of the crisis. Moreover, German market is one of the most rapidly expanding ones.

Many tourists from Israel and Russia have also booked their beach vacations in Sunny Beach. The resort will also accommodate tourists from Hungary, Poland, Romania, Belgium, Holland, Moldova and Estonia. It is expected that Sunny Beach resort will register a considerable growth of Russian and Scandinavian tourists. Moreover, some hotels in Sunny Beach are fully booked for the whole summer season.

Since early booking offers are being sold, it’s almost sure that no cheap prices will hit the market in the end of the season. This doesn’t necessarily mean that prices will rise, though, so tourists will find more affordable hotel rates. Since many tourists showed their interest in Sunny Beach, it is not expected that some hotels will remain closed. Let us remind you that Sunny Beach disposes of over 80 000 beds and 36 000 apartments.

This year all taxi drivers in Sunny Beach are obliged to wear their uniforms. Thus, the issue, regarding all taxis that try to scam tourists in the resort, is positively resolved. Also, this year the number of taxis will be reduced about four times. Additionally, a common tariff will be defined and it will be visible on information boards which will be placed everywhere in Sunny Beach. A special sign on the car will provide information and certify whether the taxi is legitimate or not.

Since Sunny Beach resort couldn’t take control over the parking lots, the management intends to launch a restriction this year. One of the most important measures is the introduction of the so-called ‘blue zone’’. The latter means that one should pay a fee in order to use the parking lot within the period 10am-00:00.
