Japanese prince and princess attended the opening of Thracian arts museum

The Prince and Princess Akishino from Japan attended the official opening of the Thracian art museum in the village of Alexandrovo. They had been invited by Bulgaria’s President Georgi Purvanov. Their visit was on the occasion of the 50th anniversary from the development of diplomatic relationships between Bulgaria and Japan.
Japan provided three million dollars for the construction of the museum.
Besides a unique gold treasure, the true copy of Thracian tomb in the Museum of Thracian art in Alexandrovo will display unique findings from a research which has been performed in the Eastern Rhodopes, Sakar Mountain and the Maritsa River region.
