Funds for the restoration of cultural monuments

Contracts which outline the perspective to restore, conserve and keep 8 cultural monuments were signed in Sofia yesterday. The total amount which needs to be allotted for restoration activities is 30 million BGN. The funds will be released under the Operational program ‘Regional development’, the scheme ‘Support for cultural monuments with national and world importance, contributing to the sustainable development of tourism’.
Funds will be invested in national historic and archeological reserve Pliska, Nikopolis ad Istrum, the basilica ‘Red church’ near Perushtitsa, Historic reserve Trapesitsa in Veliko Turnovo, Roman fortress near Sofia and the antique cultural complex ‘Serdika".
