Foreign tour operators will visit Bulgaria to get acquainted with the medical an

The first edition of the Medical tourism Fair will be held in Varna, the seaside capital of Bulgaria, from 8th of October till 9th of October 2010. The open discussion will pay attention to issues, regarding patience mobility and the possibility of foreign patients to receive medical services and undergo a specific treatment in Bulgaria.
The heads of major tour operator companies from Western Europe will be invited to get acquainted with the various options that Bulgaria can provide in the field of health services. The tour operators will be officially invited to the first specialized exhibition ‘Medical tourism, balneology and SPA’ which will be held on 8th and 9th of October in Grand Hotel Varna.
The event will be accompanied by the first of its kind conference which will focus on the new tendencies in the health tourism. Lecturers from European institutions for medical tourism and health services abroad will attend the event. The main goal of the event is to focus the attention on the different directives of the European Union which encourage EU members to develop the medical tourism. The mission of the NGOs is to popularize Bulgaria as one of the best places for the development of medical tourism. According to the official figures, the medical services in Bulgaria are almost 60% cheaper than in other European countries. However, the lack of active promotional campaigns is one of the main obstacles for the industry. It is expected that this year 40 million people will spend 60 billion USD for medical services.
