First elite “Royal Yacht Club” established in Varna

First Bulgarian “Royal Yacht Club” was established in Varna city. Its aim is the popularization of all water sports in Bulgaria. It is also aimed at making easier the cooperation with all royal clubs all over the world. The idea for the establishment of the first royal clubs belongs to the famous Bulgarian Ivan Grekov who has tens of first places in Bulgarian and International regattas.
The club will deal with the organization of children’s, youth and Olympic sailing as well as with the training of yachting teams for a successful presentation at International and Olympic competitions.
The ambition of the members of the new organization is making popular Bulgaria as sport, tourist and cultural destination through yachting.
The newly established royal yacht club aims at enhancing the authority of Bulgarian yachting in the world through organizing participation of Bulgarian sailing teams in the most prestigious world competitions.
Mr. Grekov also declared that another top priority of the club will be to popularize all water sports as well as the tourist opportunities offered by Bulgarian seaside.
A wonderful surprise is that the club will organize the first International Sea Regatta in the end of May 2009 from Varna to Mangalia.
The club invited the owners of yachts and companies who deal with sales and renting of sport facilities to present their yachts at Varna’s beach on the 24th of May. On that day a presentation and free boat cruise in the sea will be organized for children and parents.
The most feature of “Royal Yacht Club” will be the regattas “Wednesday evening” which will start to be organized on the 7th of May. Such days will be organized every Wednesday till October.
