Municipality Banite has planned to renovate, mark and promote new eco routes this year.
The main ideas to be launched will provide the opportunity to organize tourist activities and possibilities for the preservation of rare plant and birds’ species.
6 new eco paths will lead the curious visitor to remarkable places in the surroundings of Banite. The project for Zagrajdenska path, which started in 2007, was completed. This is the path with the greatest number of facilities which make easier passing through difficult spots in the region. The march through the path takes 4 hours, but stunning landmarks are the river Zagrajdenska, magnificent waterfalls, rock holes and green meadows.
156 500 EUR has been invested in eco tourism upon the project “Banire-Doksato-the green corridors of Rhodopes eco system’. The first bicycle path long 12 km is constructed between the villages Krustatnitsa and Sturnitsa. It is maintained and marked which makes it suitable for bicycles travels.
The new eco path between Banite-Vishnevo-Gulubovo-Dqvolskiq Most (“Devil’s bridge”) with the total length of 12km was also constructed. The path is marked, there are beauty spots to stop at for a short break and safe wall railings are provided at all dangerous places.
The Municipality of Banite has lack of hotels, so several family-run hotels are planned to be built.
Hence, new opportunities for various kinds of tourism, except for balneology which Banite is famous for, would be revealed.
