Each summer craftsmen from all parts of Bulgaria gather in the yard of the Ethnographic Museum Plovdiv to show their skills and compete within the Crafts week which takes place in Plovdiv. Thus, Bulgarian masters make an attempt to revive the spirit of Bulgarian past when crafts were really important for Bulgarian people. The crafts week in Bulgaria's Plovdiv city will take place from 30th of June until July 5th.
Decades have passed, but one can still feel that customs and traditions are still alive along the narrow cobbled streets of the ancient Plovdiv city.
It will be a real challenge for tourists to try a hand at the creation of traditional items on their own so as to demonstrate their skills. They can also take advantage of the help of the craftsmen.
Ethnographic museums from other parts of the country will also take part in Plovdiv’s crafts week so as to get acquainted with the subtleties of a single craft.
Plovdiv Regional Ethnographic Museum is the main organizer of the interesting event.
