Bulgaria's Northern Black Sea coasts offer cleanest beaches

There were inspections of the cleanliness of waters along Black Sea coast. All bathing zones in Bulgaria meet the quality standards, required by Bulgarian and European laws.
It appeared that the cleanest beaches are at Bulgaria's northern Black Sea coast, far away from populated territories, like Rusalka and Shabla, and south of Varna, near Primorsko.
For another year in a row the bathing water quality was worst at beaches near Varna. Bulgaria ranked 5th or 6th in an EU bathing water quality ranking for 2011, and this year it is expected that Bulgaria will achieve a better ranking in the 2012 edition of the survey.
