Architectural details in the temple Kibela in Balchik city will be restored

The architectural details, found at the temple Kibela in Balchik town, will be restored with 44 000 USD, a donation of the organization ‘USA for Bulgaria’. During the course of the project, many architectural pieces and the façade of the temple will be further restored. One of the halls in the museum will be also restored with the funds. Here we can find the artefacts from the temple which were excavated during the expedition. Archaeologists found marble statues of the Great mother of Gods, 27 inscriptions, almost all in Greek language, more than 200 coins, ivory pins, some of which were embellished with the head of Aphrodite and many others. Experts think that the temple was built 28-260 years B.C. and it was functioning as such for 700 years.
