Airshow at Plovdiv Airport

Plovdiv Airport Ltd. in association with “Mlad Orel” („Young Eagle”) Club organizes aviation festival for the Day of Aviation and Cosmonautics on the 12th of April.
The event will take place under the patronage of the Minister of Transport, Petar Mutafchiev, the Minister of defence, Mr. Nikolay Tsonev and the mayor of Plovdiv, Slavcho Atanassov.
The event will be held on the 12th of April and there will be no entrance fees for visitors.
The program includes air, land demonstration of civil and military aircrafts, delta planers and aviation models and etc. The culmination of the program will be demonstration of MIG-21 and MIG-29 from Graf Ignatievo aviation case. They will be followed by demonstration of military helicopters, parachute jumps, air acrobatics with light airplanes , demonstrations of radio-controlled models.
During the whole event visitors can have a look at functioning aircraft samples of Bulgarian BBC, civil and amateur aviation.
An exposition with exponents from the Aviation museum and rich photo material will be arranged in the arrivals’ hall of Plovdiv Airport. The youngest visitors will be able to participate in the “Aviation drawings” competition.
Guests of the event will be able to observe the development of the majour infrastructure projects on the modernization of Plovdiv airport and the construction of the new passenger terminal and the extension of the platform of the airport.
