The proposed budget of Sozopol Municipality for 2009 is 27 million leva. This is 5 million leva more than the last year. Municipality representatives reported that the bigger amount of money is needed in order to continue the work on the main priorities.
“The risk which we take by increasing the budget under the conditions of the global financial crisis is weighed, because we gave a significant start to our activities in the last year,” says the mayor Panayot Reizi.
The improvement of the living conditions in villages and the increase of the livinng standards of their residents is among the top priorities of Sozopol Municipality, added Rezi.
The mayor and his team already have started the financial summary report of the municipality for 2008 and presented the budget for 2009.
As tourism remains the main priority of Sozopol Municipality, a multitude of events and activities related to tourism are included in the budget 2009. The construction of coastal boulevard and a walking alley nearby the charming harbour are only some the main points in the program of Sozopol Municipality for 2009 so as to promote itself as an excellent destination for summer holidays.
