Most of the ski tracks in Pamporovo are green and blue which makes the resort suitable not only for ski beginners, but also for all skiers who wish to improve their skills and master their technique. Advanced skiers are always welcome to show their expertise at Stenata ski track ‘The Wall’.

The equipment in Pamporovo that services all ski tracks has the capacity of 11 600 people per hour which makes the runs easily accessible. There are nine ski tows, 13 draglifts and six chairlifts which allow the quick and comfortable movement of the skiers. The new six-seat chairlift, manufactured by the French Pomagalski company boasts a capacity of 2 400 people per hour /116 seats with a total length of 2992 meters/. The access to the ski facilities is controlled by a chip card (smart card) manufactured by an Austrian company.

The processing and overall maintenance of the ski slopes is accomplished by snowgroomers " Kassbohrer”– Germany. Your snow holiday in Pamporovo is guaranteed, because a modern artificial snow-making system, manufactured by Sufag and York, with a total length capacity of 4034m covers the ski area with snow even if the weather does not bring many snowfalls in the end of the season. The concessionaire of Pamporovo invested intensively in snow cannons in order to achieve excellent snow cover at 90% of the ski slopes. Hence, 160 snow cannons service the ski area.

It’s not necessary to be an intermediate skier to hit the slopes, you should simply grab your skis and give it a try at the excellent nursery slopes. If you are an advanced, however, you still experience the most of your ski holiday at the Wall, the most difficult ski run. Even though the locality provides good conditions for off-piste skiing, we would recommend you to consult with a guide before you undertake your off-road adventure in the mountain.

Pamporovo also has a modern and functional 110m long half-pipe facility. You can also try cross country skiing (38km) divided in to 4, 16 and 18km tracks. If you wish to experience the rhythm of the night and feel your freedom, just enjoy night skiing at the ski run ‘Stenata’/’’The Wall’’/. The most difficult ski track is open from 6am to 10pm.

Beginners: Pamporovo's ski area is ideal for first-timers since there are not less than 11 easy slopes to learn on. Moreover, the ski school in Pamporovo is famous with its qualified and patient ski teachers. If you are an enthusiast and fast learner, you will start your adventure on the four nursery slopes and it’s matter of a few days that you will be able to improve your technique on higher ski runs.

Intermediate skiers: The total length of ski runs which are suitable for intermedaites is approximately 20 km. Intermediate skiers have the longest runs including number five, down to Ardashla at 3.1km (two miles) in length. If you take the Malina triple chairlift to the middle station, followed by the Studenets lift to the summit, you'll find a choice of wide runs leading back to the village.

Advanced skiers: Don’t hesitate, but grab your skis and jump on the drag lift from the middle station which runs up the side of “The Wall”, a steep and challenging black mogul field. The latter is the most difficult ski run in the resort. There are only two black ski runs in Pamporovo and this is why it’s considered that advanced skiers have limited challenges. Demonstrate your skills at the international slalom course practice your technique at the long red ski runs.

Pamporovo and Grand Perelik Project

Pamporovo may become one of the most favourite ski resorts in Bulgaria, because the grand project ‘Perelik’ envisages great improvements. It plans to connect the Perelik peak in Pamporovo with the Mechi Chal peak near the picturesque Chepelare. According to the mayor of Smolyan, the fulfillment of the project will shape Rhodopi Mountain as a tourism centre with three parts - Mechi Chal, Pamporovo and Perelik. The project envisages the construction of additional 29.8 kilometres ski pistes, so the number of beds in the ski resort will also increase by 8000.
