That was a nice and cozy hotel, one of the best in BG. The location is excellent. Good is better then excellent :)and the service in the restaurant was great. Kids friendly:)- those disco for children was an adwantage!! Thanks for the guys!. The parking issue (pay) have to be informed in advance. Room service should be provided on a daily basis in 5* hotel.

Things which could/should be improved:
1. Mattress should be improved, if not additional add on mattress could be available upon request (as is practice in some other hotels)
2. Refrigerator – although it was replaced the replaced broke down and after additional repairs was also loud, there was no quite in the room it is difficult to have peace and tranquility when refrigerator is so loud
3. Parking should be cleaned of snow frequently, since it was not cleaned couple of cars were parked on the middle of the parking and leaving was problematic
4. Towels are of bed quality
5. Sauna does not have a door handle on the inside
6. Lighting in spa area is not working (showers next to sauna)
7. Heating in spa was inadequate
8. Light in the ante room is set to turn off by itself and that was a problem since there is not enough light in the room
9. Rooms should be polished, minor maintenance needs were present and should be fixed, power fixture bellow sink, door frame, table was damaged, phone was not working
10. Manual which is present in the room is inadequate, no information relating to safe, wifi, use of SPA, ski room use etc.
11. No place to hang wardrobe on the terrace
12. Wardrobe does not have enough room / shelves
13. Slide and similar items for small kids could be added in the hotel for minimal cost, it is strange that hotel which is behind Festa and which does not claim 5* has slide, and better facilities outside for kids when compared to FWP
14. Price of drinks in restaurant and café should be the same

Strong points:

1. Service during the breakfast and dinner
2. Food was good when compared to other hotels visited in Bulgaria
3. Location of the Hotel is good
4. Help with luggage was more than welcome
5. Café is a nice place to relax
6. Rooms are of good size
7. Good value

Had a great stay but at first as there was 11 of us, the restaurant struggled to seat us together for meals, but after a chat they accommodated us in an other restaurant thank you!!

Not a four star hotel. Booked a suite for 3 adults and got a double bed and a camp bed. Not acceptable. Rooms not cleaned properly. Staircases dirty. Food ok. Swimming pool freezing cold. Sauna ok. Staff were a bit grumpy. But location was good.

We were group of friends with small children and stayed at Festa Winter Palace during last week of January 2017. Everything was great, rooms were clean and well maintained, we liked the HB as well. The hotel is on great location, just a few metres from the slope where the kids could slide and learn skiing. Spacial thanks to the entertainment staff....the kinds loved them. We recommend the hotel with pleasure and are looking forward to come back next year.

This was our 6th trip to Borovets but first visit to Festa Winter Palace. It is definitely one of the more spacious and pretty hotels with a stunning location. We booked B&B, but had dinner in the Seasons Restaurant one evening - what a hidden gem! I highly recommend the Seasons Restaurant...and the "White Kiss" flavoured coffee from the Mozart Lobby Bar :-)

We stayed in a junior suite which was a lovely large room with an extra bed. Everything was very clean and tidy. Not sure how often the rooms were cleaned though. Glasses were never changed. And fresh water wasn't replaced. Fresh fruit was provided though. Staff were very friendly.

Second time we have stayed here. We like the hotel because it is comfortable, very well placed for the ski slopes and good value for money. Our room this year was enormous and would have been even better with tea making facilities. The staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfasts are OK although Bulgaria does not yet seem to have discovered real coffee. From talking to others this seems to be the best hotel in the resort.

Must have a ski storage room just for your clients (Why pay for the depot?)
Your staff is very friendly and eager to help but their English needs improvement.

Το δωμάτιο ήταν απίστευτα σκονισμένο. Η καθαριότητα κάτω του μετρίου. Για 4 ημέρες δεν μας αλλάξανε πετσέτες, ούτε σεντόνια, πράγμα απαράδεκτο για ξενοδοχείο υποτίθεται 5 αστέρων. Πολύ καλός ο χώρος των spa και η πισίνα. Την παραμονή των Χριστουγέννων το λόμπυ έκλεισε στις 11 το βράδυ!!!!

First visit skiing in Bulgaria and it won't be the last. Excellent hotel, couldn't fault it. Reception staff always very helpful. Breakfast was lovely, plenty of choice and well presented. Ate at local restaurants in the evening for variety and wasn't disappointed.

Hotel has clean and warm rooms; location is within walking distance to ski slopes.
The only deficiency is that it has no good food quality. Food needs improvement, particularly dinners.

Spent last 4 years in Kempisnki - Bansko where I paid in average 140 Eur per night. Your hotel was more expensive, but in comparison far behind in every aspect.
In the room 407 was depresive for a family with 2 kids, very small, only 3 hangers in closet, no shelfs for clothes etc. Room 409 was ok, but in both rooms the bed for kids was horrible.

Had 1 st night food in Gourmet restaurant, that doesnt deserve that name. from second night on we spend every dinner in Alpine hotel which I recommend you as a benchmark for your food and service.

Our second stay at the Festa Winter Palace and standards remain high, if not better! The only criticism I can make is that we weren't offered drinks during our evening meal and as a result often went without. Plus one toaster at breakfast didn't work but remained there for the duration of our stay. However both complaints are trivial and did not spoil our stay.

The hotel looks stunning and the rooms were a good size and clean. Those are the only good things about the place. Good location near the slopes. Staff weren't friendly, especially in the restaurant where they were very rude on more than one occasion. No hairdryer as advertised. Had to use it and take it back afterwards, then on another occasion were told there were none available. Not enough storage space, lived out of my case. Food was terrible, very poor quality and not cooked through.

Having a Bulgarian wife, I spend quite a number of my holidays in Bulgaria. In most Bulgarian hotels the service is at best poor & the food barley edible, being mostly deep fried!
The Winter Palace was a revelation. Whilst not a 5* by western standards it is head & shoulders better than any other hotel in Borovets. Its location is good just at the bottom of the black run & just far enough from the center that you are not kept awake by the drunks spilling out of the clubs at 2am but close enough that you are only a few minutes walk away.
The service was very good & the staff were welcoming. The food is by far the best I have eaten in any resurant in Bulgaria, even the plates were warm.
Still far from perfect but by Bulgarian standards exceptional. This hotel could hold its own in any ski resort in the world.

We arrived there on the evening on 12th February for weeks skiing. The hotel on the outside looks stunning and is by far the most attractive in Borovets. It is similar on the inside too. The reception staff were good on arrival, although the next few nights the lady on reception was very miserable and unhelpful. Advertised in the hotel brochure in our room was a welcome drink at one of the hitels bars, however when we went down we ere told we had to pay 10 lv each to get in!! The rooms are very clean and very nice but far too hot!! It might be below freezing ouside but the rooms felt like over 100 F on the inside and the sleep quality was very poor!! Although this hotel has its bad points, it is certainly not a 5 star by British/Western standards it is still a good hotel that I would recommend.
