First UK gathering will be held in rural tourism destination in Bulgaria

First of its kind UK gathering will be held in the village Polkovnik Serafimovo, Smolyan area. The event will be held on 3rd, 4th and 5th June 2011 and the village expects over 250 British residents to arrive in Bulgaria to attend the event. The idea for the first International gathering in Rhodope Mountains belongs to 14 Britons who bought their homes in the village several years ago and settled in the beautiful Rhodope Mountain. Currently the area is being prepared toe the gathering and even a campsite will be also constructed. Thus, many guests will be able to accommodate in the campsite and the rest will be put up in the guesthouses in the village. All British guests will be able to get acquainted with traditional Rhodope folklore songs and dances, culinary surprises and traditional crafts which are typical of the region. Thus, the area of Smolyan will be also promoted in an unusual way and this may boost the interest in rural tourism.
